In Coimbatore, a city renowned for its hospitality and culture, the P. Perichi Gounder Memorial Education and Charitable Trust was founded in 1992 by Dr. L.P. Thangavelu, M.S., a distinguished laparoscopic surgeon. As the visionary and accomplished educational leader, Dr. Thangavelu embedded a commitment to excellence and perfection into the very essence of the institution. With the unwavering support of his wife, Mrs. Shanthi Thangavelu, who serves as trustee, the institutions under the PPG banner have made remarkable progress, earning numerous accolades and recognition along the way.
The trust has established and been nurturing various educational institutions for the last 10 years in Coimbatore - Physiotherapy, Nursing, Education, Engineering, Allied Health Sciences, Business School, Pharmacy, Arts & Science, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Alchemy Public School.
PPG College of Physiotherapy was established in the year 1998 and has now developed into a reputed and renowned institution of higher education. Dr.L.P.Thangavelu is the founder chairman, Smt.Shanthi Thangavelu is the founder correspondent and Mr. Akshay Thangavel is the Vice Chairman of the institution.
PPG College of Physiotherapy is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai.
PPG College of Physiotherapy is situated on a beautiful and serene campus. Over a period of nearly 26 years, it has grown into a full-fledged post graduate-research institution with well-equipped laboratories, excellent library and a well-maintained playground. The college offers UG and PG degrees in Physiotherapy.
Initially B.P.T. Degree programme was formulated in 1998 to train young ones as professional Physiotherapist for meeting the health needs of the country. In 2004 the University approved the initiation of two years Master of Physiotherapy programme. The institution is awaiting approval from the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University to start the Doctoral programme in Physiotherapy.
